What is Meddle?
Meddle is a dating app that allows single people's friends and family to swipe
for them. You can either sign up as a single person on the app or a Meddler,
which is to someone who wants help their single friend find the right a person.
A single person is still able to swipe through people themselves like on Tinder,
but they can’t match with anyone by themselves.
Each single person must have at least one Meddler who is swiping for them,
and the single person won't be able to get a match unless at least one of their
Meddlers has swiped right on a person, and at least one of that person's
Meddlers has swiped right on the single friend.
Project Scope:
For this project, our client asked us to improve the on-boarding process of
meddlerson the app.
Problem statement:
People who want to use this app, need an easier way to set up accounts on
Meddle because the current on-boarding process is cold, confusing and
frustrating.
suggested solution:
We believe that by simplifying the on-boarding process and making it more
engaging and fun, more Meddlers will be encouraged to complete
the account setup process and begin using the app and inviting friends.
RESEARCH
We started off our project by downloading the app and trying it out for ourselves. We wanted to explored
the on-boarding processes of the app. By doing this, we were able to get a sense of the app's features
and what the current on-boarding process was like before we met with the client. We prepared a series of
questions that we wanted to ask the client, including questions around why he created the app, where he
saw it going, and what his greatest hopes and fears around the app were.
what we learned from that meeting was, he wanted us to focus on improving the on-boarding experience
of Meddlers, since he had previously had another team to work on the on-boarding process of single
people. We learned that he eventually want to expand out the app to cover other aspects of life other than
finding matches for friends like helping your friend with buying a house and other important decisions.
LOGO DESIGN
(Visual designer)
The thing that had my attention as a visual designer at the beginning of this project was, Meddle’s logo.
So, I needed to make sure that this is a real problem rather than a personal assumption. I asked Pete to
have some questions around Meddle’s logo in his interviews.

Questions:
I wanted Pete to ask this question before knowing the idea of app:
- What do you think about the idea of the app by looking at their logo?
And this question after explaining what does this app do:
- How relevant did you find this logo for this app?
Answers:
- Before knowing the app:
most of them thought it was an engineering application and couldn’t
understand what Meddle is about!!
- After they were explained about it:
They mostly were confused and thought maybe this is not the best logo for
an dating app.
